December is here which means it is time for advent calendars, Christmas trees and decorating. Although there will still be restrictions on our everyday lives, it is great news that the lockdown ended as promised on Wednesday last week. There is light at the end of the tunnel with vaccines on the horizon and we do hope that this will mean that we can have a longer cricket season in 2021.
This month is still busy here at Cricket Vision before we relax over the Christmas period. We will be contacting our partner clubs over the next couple of weeks to secure dates for our 2021 Easter Camps and we will announce these in January so stay tuned for this. Our Digital Coaching offering will be trialled and we will be planning club sessions for next year. After the first lockdown it was great to see lots of people getting into this wonderful sport this year and we believe that Cricket in 2021 will thrive further and we can’t wait!
As for cricket related news, over the couple of weeks we have seen some fantastic batting displays by the England team, from Jonny Bairstow saving the day in the first T20 against South Africa to Dawid Malan’s 99 not out off just 47 balls on Tuesday last week. These victories have taken England to the top of the T20 rankings and if this remains for the next year or so will make them the favourites going into the World Cup next year in India. It is a shame that the remaining ODIs will not go ahead due to a positive COVID case but it has been great to see that the South Africa series went ahead albeit a shortened version.
We hope that you have a great rest of your week and enjoy more freedoms than you have had in recent weeks.
See you in the next blog!
